Lots of Activity!

Our church has been BUSY ! There is always something to do. Our most recent activity was our Easter Bake Sale.

We had lots of baking including this Easter cake!

It is almost ready for the buyers! Even though it was a very busy weekend in Outlook, our ladies (and some men) came through with lots of baking.

Lila and Elaine were getting quilts ready for display when they felt something inside the quilts - oh, oh, it was a pair of scissors!!!!

Jan finally finds her scissors! Next time, leave them outside the quilt, not inside!!

On April 1, LCBI hosted the Outlook noon lenten service in our church. Pr. Rick had the message and the concert choir sang.

Quilting Week - March 9 - 13 and Button Party - April 1

We had another successful quilting week - putting 115 quilts together. Some ladies were busy beforehand at home - making some wonderful tops!

Jeanne and Iris were busy packing up layettes on April 1 while others sewed receiving blankets, gowns etc. and still others sewed on buttons on gowns and shirts made by different ladies at home.

The Tradition Continues,

We keep wondering if the quilting/layette tradition of our church will die as many of our more senior ladies are not able to help anymore, but this time, we had three grandmothers teach their granddaughters how to sew on buttons!

Sandra teaches grand daughters Julianna and Mari how to sew buttons on little shirts.

Grandma Darlene gives Eliana some tips on sewing on buttons!

Teagen enjoys learning from Grandma Lois!

Coffee time after worship service is a great time to visit with each other.

Sunday School

The Sunday School enjoys their bigger space as they decorate Easter eggs with Christian symbols.

Later, in their individual classrooms, the students learn about Easter using "Resurrection Eggs" - plastic eggs in which they make a small symbol representing part of the Easter story and put it inside. The first egg had a donkey made with pipe cleaners to remind them of Palm Sunday. Other eggs had a chalice, nails, a stone, crown of thorns, a leather whip, etc. ending with the empty tomb.

Membership Sunday

Gert, Ockert, Debra, Judy and Jim joined our congregation on March 22. We celebrated with coffee and fellowship over a special cake.

Greek Supper

The Mortgage Reduction Committee sponsored a Greek supper on February 6. Tickets sold out leaving some disappointed people who were not able to get tickets. A special thank you to our chief Chef, Dale, and Leslie and crew for all their hard work!

These servers and cooks made the Greek supper a very special time.
